TRAVEL INFO

LOCATION

Bangkok is a bustling metropolis, bursting at the seams with glitzy malls, historical sites, and irresistible gastronomic temptations. These drawcards, among others, attract an estimated 23 million international visitors each year, making the Thai capital one of the top tourist destination cities in the world – and an ideal location for our latest edition of the MarketHub Asia.

Guests to the MarketHub Asia will quickly become familiar with the Pratunam district, home to the Amari Bangkok and considered to be one of the most important transportation routes in the city. Those flying into Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) can reach the area in around 45 minutes by road; alternatively, a direct train can take visitors from the airport to Pratunam within 25 minutes.

Tips

Tipping is not customary in Thailand, although it is appreciated. Street vendors and small sellers are most likely to decline tips through humility, while restaurant and café workers, as well as hotel staff, are more accepting. Consider leaving your change in smaller venues, or consider tips of around 10% in larger establishments.
